Oven & Fried Chicken

Tried the original and spicy garlic chicken Spicy garlic is a little too sweet for me but the spiciness is definitely on point. Seasoning for the original flavour is good but it can be more juicy, the texture is not as good as before. Totally disappointed with the steam egg, it is over seasoned, undercooked as it is not charred enough and with the amount of broth underneath it is as good as drinking egg soup. Service wise is average, the staff can be more friendly but understand that they are lack of manpower too. Overall, it is a pleasant place to dine in but food quality definitely has lot of room to improve.

On a weekday evening, I had a craving for some seriously spicy chicken and decided to explore Telok Ayer Street for options. I discovered Oven and Fried Chicken, which offered two versions of spicy chicken. The first was a popular choice, served quickly, while the other was the crispy version, which took about 30 minutes. Opting for the popular spicy option, I was served promptly. The quality didn't disappoint, but despite its three-chili scale, it was more medium-spicy for my taste. I couldn't quite find anything extraordinarily special about the sauce that would make me rush back for more. A friendly tip: don't forget to ask for a hand glove when you dig into those wings. While this experience left me satisfied, I'm curious about other items on their menu that seem to be popular, and I might give them a try in the future.

I have to highlight this place gets very crowded towards the evening, so come at ur own risk 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Downside is that the whole place tend to be very noisy, pretty impossible to get a good conversation going, as it's enclosed & customers get excited over meet-ups, soju & yummy chicken 😅 huge portions too! Value for money. Nice for gatherings, but pls book in advance, esp wkends. 2nd level avail only when 1st level is fully occupied.

This is a place where my 2 other friends used to come and they knew I like soju. They have wide range of soju and I got the one from Busan. We ordered two type of fried chicken and tuna kimchi soup. One fried chicken is spicy and the other one is original. I prefer the original one. The chicken does not taste too oily and soft. I like the tuna kimchi soup as it is very fragrant. The tuna is good compliment to the kimchi soup. The only downside is this soup is served not with a warmer. We have to try to finish the soup as much as we can. Would recommend reservation and am glad to have the seat upstairs which is quiet to have a chat or discussion with friends.

Tried the Lunch Sets at SGD11.90 inclusive of a soda from Oven & Fried Chicken. We got 2 of the 3 choices, Curry Chicken and Stir Fried Chicken. We were informed that the Stir Fried would take about 20 minutes to serve. Oven and Fried specializes in Korean Fried Chicken and they are proud to say that they source and use 100% rice flour and other essential spices from Korea which lends to a crispier, less oily batter. They have two ways of chicken preparation, Okkudak and Ssal Dak. The Stir Fried Chicken is first roasted then baked before stir frying in thick sauce filled with sliced peppers and veggies. This is Okkudak. The chicken itself was delectable, sliced bite-sized and tender. The Curry Chicken, on the other hand, is prepared Ssal Dak or twice fried and battered. The skin pieces were particularly enjoyable because of the crunch and the added profile of double frying. There was curry sauce on the side with some carrot and potato cubes. The sauce delivers a late kick, but had sustained heat, nonetheless. Enjoyed my KFC (Korean Fried Chicken) at Oven & Fried.
